On July 9, 2016 the church van headed to West Virginia to try to help the residents of Clay WV recover from flooding with items to ease their burden.  The destruction was major and certainly heart moving.  To see someones household just piled up on the side of the road for the world to view is certainly heart breaking.  We continue to pray for these families that lost soo much.  But we serve a Big God that can mend broken hearts and rebuild homes.

Water was still running in the side ditches.

Household items piled up on the sides of the road where people had cleaned out their homes.

Roads had washed out and were still being repaired.

FEMA had set up at the local school but had decided they would not be passing out any more supplies.  They rented a local warehouse and were moving the items to there for storage.

Everywhere you looked there were piles of household debris.

Clay, West Virginia

You could see along the river banks how the water had come in so hard and so fast it had layed down trees and bushes and left behind debris.

Bridges washed out to homes.  Leaving no access in or out.

After all the devistaion... there is HOPE in the CROSS...
